PT Angkasa Pura II Signs Collaboration with KPK to Strengthen Whistleblowing System

21 Dec 2020

The company obtained the ISO 37001: 2016 certificate for the Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP)

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) is committed to always strengthening efforts to prevent corrupt practices.

Today, Monday, December 21, 2020, the company is one of the two BUMNs which together with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) signed a Cooperation Agreement on Handling Complaints in Efforts to Eradicate Corruption Crime.

The agreement serves as a legal umbrella for cooperation between PT Angkasa Pura II and the KPK related to the integration of the whistleblowing system.

KPK chairman Firli Bahuri said the signing of this cooperation was in the context of managing reports, especially against witness reports of criminal acts of corruption.

"Everyone has a role in fighting corruption, which is known as the whistleblowing system. This activity is intended by all parties to make this system an alarm or wake up call, a wake-up call that there is a dangerous condition for us, "said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri.

In the same place, BUMN Minister Erick Thohir said the whistleblowing system must work because it is a real and real program. Currently, only 2 BUMNs have signed cooperation with the KPK regarding the whistleblowing system and next year it will be encouraged for other SOEs to sign similar cooperation.

"One of the things that the Ministry of BUMN wants to build is that the support for openness must occur," said the Minister of BUMN.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin said the collaboration with the KPK regarding the whistleblowing system was an initiative to prevent corruption practices in order to strengthen good corporate governance (GCG).

These corruption prevention efforts will also support the company to achieve its vision of On Becoming Airport Enterprise Leader in the Region by 2024.

"PT Angkasa Pura II and the KPK will integrate the whistleblowing system electronically, strengthening the violation complaint system that PT Angkasa Pura II already has. This system integration will facilitate coordination and monitoring in order to increase efficiency and effectiveness in handling suspected violations, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP)
Furthermore, BUMN Minister Erick Thohir also explained that currently around 80% of BUMN had received ISO 37001 certification for the Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP).

PT Angkasa Pura II itself received the ISO 37001: 2016 certification this year after an assessment was carried out by BSI Indonesia which is part of the British Standards Institution Group (BSI Group) based in London, England.

Muhammad Awaluddin said that the certification related to the SMAP given by BSI Indonesia strengthens the company's culture in implementing GCG.

"This ISO 37001: 2016 certification indicates that PT Angkasa Pura II already has a system to prevent bribery and enforces 4 No, namely No Bribery, No Gift, No Kickback and No Luxurious Goods. Our step towards achieving this certification is also an effort to prevent things that can degrade the reputation of all companies providing public services, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Still in the effort to prevent corruption, in line with the efforts to implement Good Corporate Governance (GCG) that have been carried out, PT Angkasa Pura II was awarded as The Most Trusted Companies 2020 in the Indonesia Good Corporate Governance Award, which is the highlight of the Corporate Governance Perception Index program ( CGPI) for the 2019 financial year assessment.

This CGPI assessment includes governance structure, governance process and governance outcome.

"The Most Trusted Companies award achieved by PT Angkasa Pura II is an encouragement for us to always improve and maintain good corporate governance in maintaining air transportation connectivity in Indonesia," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
